Glass mat industry

GP Chemicals has provided the glass mat industry with quality products for years. We continue to develop new products that address the needs of our customers. Currently we offer three distinct binder platforms:

  • A patented, single-package urea-formaldehyde (UF) resin that does not require post modification
  • A UF resin that requires latex modification
  • A new family of LEAF FREE™ glass mat resins formulated without formaldehyde added.

All of these water-soluble thermosetting resins were specifically designed to address individual customer requirements by providing good tensile and tear, and low emissions.

Both our UF and LEAF FREE product lines are appropriate for glass mat applications such as residential roofing shingles, built up roofing (BUR), carpet tile backing, wall board, and other specialty applications.

Many glass mat products can benefit from the use of our line of triazone resin products which can extend base polymers, reducing costs while maintaining performance of the end product.

The GP Chemicals technical staff works closely with customers to develop products that meet their specific requirements.
