Urea-formaldehyde resins

Urea-formaldehyde resins are used in the production of composite panel products such as medium density fiberboard (MDF) and particleboard (PB). UF resins are currently used in combination with other resin systems and scavengers to meet reduced formaldehyde emission requirements in the final panel products. A variety of scavenger, buffering and catalyst technologies can be used with these products to control cure speed characteristics for these applications while reducing emissions.

LEAF® C2 resins and scavengers are specifically designed to aid in emissions compliance. These resins are available in urea-formaldehyde (UF) formulations and can be combined with other resins and scavengers to aid in complying with the California Air Resources Board (CARB) Airborne Toxic Control Measure (ATCM) for Composite Wood Products Phase II emission requirements.

We also manufacture a complete line of water soluble UF resins specifically designed for wet laid glass mat products including roofing shingles, gypsum board, carpet tile backing and specialty applications. These UF resins are available as a patented single package resin requiring no latex modification and as a conventional resin that will accept acrylic latex modification.

A line of our UF resins is used in industrial abrasives applications including sandpaper, scrub pads, grit wetting agents, and bonded abrasives.
