Since 1959, Georgia-Pacific Chemicals has been supplying thermosetting resins to manufacturers throughout the wood products industry. Our continued success as a leader in this industry rests on our reliability as a supplier, consistent quality products and technical expertise. As a result of our focus on value creation and knowledge of the industry, we continue to provide innovative products that meet the new challenges facing our customers.

We know wood bonding. We supply the wood composites industry with an extensive portfolio of adhesives for all types of wood panels and engineered wood, including structural panels, medium density fiberboard (MDF), oriented strand board (OSB), particleboard, hardboard, plywood, and laminated veneer lumber (LVL).

Our binder resins include LEAF® adhesives and scavengers, an innovative line of products formulated to aid in the reduction of formaldehyde emissions in wood products and WOODWELD® powder phenol-formaldehyde adhesives for OSB production.

Our newest product, RESI-BOOST™ technology, is an innovative product for plywood manufacture savings. Its benefits include lower glue costs, faster throughput and lower press temperature while retaining bond quality.

In addition to our wood resins and adhesives product portfolio, Georgia-Pacific Chemicals offers services to help keep our customers’ plants running productively. Through GP Process Modeling, we provide real time statistical modeling of process parameters to identify opportunities for improvement and variation reduction throughout the production process. This can result in improved throughput, driving better results for our customers.

Another product and service offering is the GP™ Dynamic Microchamber (DMC) we created over 20 years ago to support the wood panel industry. The GP DMC is approved by the California Air Resources Board (CARB) as an alternative small scale test method for conducting quality control testing of formaldehyde emissions by manufacturers of composite wood products. (CARB Letter) The majority of the Composite Panel Association’s qualified producers utilize the GP DMC secondary test method as their primary testing method.

A new patent-pending technology with upgraded software enhances the accuracy of testing at low emission levels including Ultra Low Emission Formaldehyde (ULEF) Reduced or ULEF Exempt Standards. GP Chemicals not only created the patent-protected equipment and copyrighted software but we provide upgrades, repair service, training, calibrations and parts for the GP DMC.
