Customers Drive Development of New Georgia-Pacific Chemicals Website

ATLANTA, GA September 19, 2011

Georgia-Pacific Chemicals announces a new website based on extensive customer research. The website,, features an enhanced product browser and four ways customers can locate information on products that can meet their needs.

“We surveyed our customers and other website users to find how they utilize the Internet in their jobs and the kind of information they find most useful,” says Shelley Woods Whiting, director of commercial development, marketing and sustainability. “Customers want a no-nonsense resource that gets them to the product information they are looking for as quickly as possible.”

The challenge was incorporating the broad portfolio of practical product solutions, as well as the many industries which GP Chemicals serves, according to Whiting. “We provide products for well over 35 distinct industries in literally thousands of applications from oilfield chemicals to wood adhesives to mining, paper and packaging. The new site helps users find the products they need quickly by searching by industry, product type, brand or keyword, with the ability to zero in by specific application.”

The site also addresses collaborative customized product development through a solution survey that encourages customers to contact GP Chemicals about their individual, specific requirements, as well as tackling potential longer-term marketplace needs.

In addition to product information, the site contains information on GP Chemicals innovation initiatives, research and development capabilities, global reach, resources, news and events.

“We are using the new website launch to introduce our new tagline – bonds that last. advancements that work. – which also reflects customer feedback regarding our ability to deliver practical solutions and develop long-term relationships,” says Whiting.
