RESI-BOOST® adhesive technology

Georgia-Pacific Chemicals has been a major supplier to the wood products industry for decades. We continuously have projects with the goal of improving the efficacy of the industry. One of these projects resulted in a patented innovation called RESI-BOOST technology. This technology allows our customers to use less adhesive and to press faster, resulting in the ability to potentially make their products using less resources, effectively lowering costs without affecting performance of the finished product.

The development of RESI-BOOST technology began in the lab with the use of Theory of Inventive Problem Solving (TRIZ) methodologies to identify possible approaches to address the opportunity. Then a series of Statistically Designed Experiments were conducted to quickly identify and test potential candidates.

The Georgia-Pacific Chemicals lab has a full array of analytical instrumentation and applications testing capabilities which facilitate the work of the chemist developing new technology. Following this testing, the most promising candidate was then trialed in the field, confirming the lab results. Some customers have reported up to 20% reduction in hot press time and up to 10% reduction in spread levels in addition to other operational benefits. For more information on RESI-BOOST click here.
